Filigree of Gold - Morgan's Map of London

Morgan's Map of London (1682) was, and is, the most wonderful resource for thinking about how the people in the Seeking Solus series saw and lived life in London at the end of the seventeenth century. I must have spent hours with a magnifying glass looking at my copy, following the alleys and courtyards, the churches and the guild houses, the inns and the temptations.
Before I owned a copy of Morgan's map and a magnifying glass, I used the website: Explore our unique, historic map layers | Layers of London which has the key locations and other information layered from maps over time, including Morgan's map. Enjoy.
Over the coming weeks, I will post the real history that sits behind the Seeking Solus series. We will go chapter by chapter through the locations and the events mentioned in A Filigree of Gold.
