Dawn & other stuff
By P.B. Phillips

Dawn

360 degree dawn, blow-torched the sky alight.

Cloud, wind, and atmosphere, perfect, just right.

Ollie and I, alone to behold.

Purple, russet, and deepest liquid gold.

God performs one of his best party tricks.

You missed it, you lazy lay-a-bed hicks.

Winter

Come now winter

Come now please

Come now strike

The leaves from these trees.

Seedless be the fruit

Empty be the boughs

Poisoned be the roots

Pointless, are the ploughs.

See the dawn

Dear Cedric will you stop

Consider the path you follow

Be of a heart to draw breath

Sit, rest a little, and wallow.

Dear Cedric I beg you to stop

Consider, the effect you wrought

Be of a mind to assess options

Sit, rest a little in thought.

Dear Cedric will you stop

Consider, they will bitterly mourn

Be of a heart to breathe

Sit, rest a little, await the healing dawn.
